What is Music Theater in essence? Can it be called a genre on its own? Or is it merely a label for everything that does not fit under another label? And if it exists, what is then the difference between Music Theater – the modern performance art form and subgenre of music theater – and other hybrid art forms that include musical and theatrical elements grouped under the hypernym ‘music theater’.

In the beginning of 2013, I stayed in Istanbul for one month. Soon after I arrived, I realized that there were almost no trees or green areas in the city. There were also hardly any birds. I started reflecting on urbanization, us covering our planet in concrete, excluding nature from our daily life, forgetting what the planet used to be like, getting used to our concrete surroundings, and accepting them without questioning.
